Tutor Clive Witham
Clive is director of the Komorebi Institute and co-runs the Center for Health and Research in Barcelona, Spain. He is a licensed acupuncturist and health promotion specialist and has been using and researching Gua sha for over 23 years.
He is the creator of Ecology in Motion Gua sha, which developed out of his chronic health clinic in North Africa, and has online and live Facial and Body Gua sha teaching programs.
This one day practical workshop is an introduction to the use of Gua sha for common ailments such as coughs, colds, stomach-ache, stiff neck, shoulder pain and insomnia. This is a rare chance to get into the world of Gua sha and gain immediate skills and tips directly from a world pioneer in Gua sha.
Gua sha is a huge area which takes a long time to understand and use correctly, but in this short introduction to treatment, we will look briefly at some of the research behind treatments and at key ailments which are often helped successfully with Gua sha. This means that the course is well-suited to professionals and non-professionals alike and will be of benefit both in the treatment room with clients/patients and at home with family/friends.
The focus of this course is on introducing direct practical skills that can be used immediately to help alleviate the health issues featured. Throughout the day you will practise the techniques required and you will leave with a clear understanding on how to start to approach these issues.
There will be numerous demonstrations and ample time for questions and answers as well as supervised practice sessions.
